The grading system is based on The Book Collector system, only their FINE grading
has been replaced by and EX grading.
MINT: The book is new, complete with dust jacket and is
in perfect condition, as is the dust jacket.
EX+: Between EX and MINT.
EX: As the Book Collector FINE. The book is in excellent
condition and will show evidence of ownership and storage but should be in
almost perfect condition. A small inscription or name of previous owner is
allowed. The dust jacket should look as new but a small amount of rubbing to
edges and corners is allowed.
VG+: Between VG and EX.
VG: Maybe a small amount of foxing or fading or tiny crease
or mark but no major faults. Dust jacket is clean with no tears but may have
some rubbing and fading to edges and corners. A tiny crease or tear is allowed.
GOOD +: Between GOOD and VG.
GOOD: Clearly second hand but complete and readable. No
major faults but any tears, marks etc will be listed in the description. May
have some underlining or highlighting. Dust jacket has good colouring but may
have marks, stains, creasing ( nothing major) and other signs of wear. Edges
and corners may be rubbed and have smallish tears.
FAIR: Pages may be very creased, have an amount of staining
or large marks, even small tears to pages. Loose pages and spine are also possible.
May be writing in the book. Jacket may have tears, significant marks or stains
but will be intact.
POOR: The book is in bad condition, pages may be away from
the spine, it could be warped, pages missing, generally difficult to read.
Jacket may be in pieces, badly stained etc.
