Here is the lineup for our events during LEITHLATE
6.00pm ERRANT BOY: Leith label Errant Media's resident beatniks and BBC Introducing alumni Errant Boy will play a stripped back set featuring both songs from debut album 'A Wayward Mirror' (**** The Scotsman) and new material. Expect melodies oozing from vintage Rickenbackers and lyrical unease. You're welcome.
6.45pm STEPHEN MCLAREN: "Having released his debut single, "We Used To Go Raving" in early 2017, Stephen McLaren aims to carry on in the same exciting, driving manner of the aforementioned piano-led dreampop tune, with a 2nd single to follow in June, and his debut album coming out in September on Errant Media. Expect virtuosic piano, haunting vocals, and atmospheric beats.
7.30pm DEAD BROKE & DIRTY: Dead Broke & Dirty play the 'Devils music' for all you rock and roll junkies out the. "We gonna Wang Dang Doodle all night long".
8.30pm GEEK MAGGOT BINGO: Geek Maggot Bingo are a high-energy, three-piece garage rock 'n' roll band with a thunderous sound and a reputation for wild, intense live performances.
SATURDAY 17 JUNE 2.30pm TOBY MOTTERSHEAD: Frontman of Black Diamond Express.
3.30pm NO THINGS: Leith's very own Garage-Punks promote their latest LP, Here Come the No-Things.
4.30pm BLUEFLINT: A the heart of Blueflint are the wonderfully matched voices of Clare Neilson and Deborah Arnott… They bring out the soul of a soulless environment and give voice to a thousand humdrum lives. Yet despite the subject matter, this is far from being a depressing album. On the contrary. This is a life-affirming piece, full of fantastic lyrics, great musicianship and more than a few wry smiles.”
5.30pm THEE GIRL FRIDAYS: "Sassy singer Soo Kazooki, go-go guitarist Lil' Fury and beatnik bassist Ms. Boom are all proud graduates of the prestigious Edinburgh Girls Rock School. Whilst darling drummer loopy Liana has previously played with The Seafield Foxes and Ugly Baby. Thee Girl Fridays play a mixture of garage-punk and googly-goodness-good-time-rock 'n' roll with added twang - and that's not just from the guitar! They aim to bring big knickers back, you may even be lucky enough to catch a pair if you see them live!"
